1. GIPI, a Public or Private Institution?

Gateway Industrial & Petro-Gas Institute (GIPI) is a government-owned institution, established by the OGHA Act 9 of 2008 and signed into law on September 2, 2008, by the Governor of Ogun State.

2. What programs and courses are available at the Institute?

The certificate awarded depends on the type of program completed and aligns with the Institute’s mandate.

4. Is GIPI’s certificate recognized within and outside the country?

Yes, all programs and courses at GIPI are approved and accredited by regulatory institutions and professional bodies, including the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), and the Nigerian Institute of Welding (NIW). GIPI certificates are recognized both nationally and internationally.

5. Can I use the certificate to further my studies?

Yes, the National Innovation Diploma (NID) certificate can be used for admission into Higher National Diploma (HND) programs or as Direct Entry (DE) into degree-awarding institutions. The Professional Diploma is primarily intended for individuals seeking to acquire practical skills for employment and self-reliance rather than for academic advancement.

6. How can I apply for my desired program?

All applications are processed online at https://gipi.edu.ng. Click on “Apply Now”. Simply select your desired course and fill in the required information. The portal will guide you through payment for the application form. An Institute officer will then process your application and contact you with further details.

7. What is the duration of each program?

8. What is the basic entry requirement for your courses?

National Innovation Diploma (NID): A minimum of five credits, including English, Mathematics, Physics, and any two other science subjects at SSCE level or its equivalent (NTC/TTC/C&G/NABTEB). A minimum score of 100 in UTME is also required. Professional Diploma: A minimum of four credits, including English, Mathematics, and any two other subjects, or an equivalent (NTC/TTC/C&G/NABTEB). Graduates from higher institutions and non-science students are also eligible to apply.

10. Can I pay in instalments?

Yes, payments can be made in instalments. However, students are required to pay a minimum of 50% of the total fee in the first semester/module of their respective program.

11. Does GIPI provide accommodation for its trainees/students?

We recognize the importance of assisting trainees to secure suitable accommodation facilities within and outside the Institute’s campus. Hostel accommodation is available to all trainees/students and visitors.

12. I am a working professional, can I apply?

Yes, our programs are flexible and open to working professionals or business owners. We offer full-time, part-time, and online options to suit your schedule.

13. How long does it take for my certificate to be ready after graduation?

Certificates for all programs are available once the Academic Board approves the final results, typically within one month of completing the final exams. For short courses, certificates are issued immediately upon program completion.

14. Can my certificate be sent to my location when it is ready?

Yes, your certificate can be sent to any location worldwide. However, those requesting delivery will be responsible for the cost of the courier service.

15. What are the prospects after graduation?

Upon graduation, trainees are well-equipped to work in various industries or start and manage their own businesses.

16. Does GIPI help graduates secure jobs or IT placements after graduation?

While the Institute does not directly secure jobs for graduates, we have partnerships with companies that occasionally seek our graduates. We connect graduates with these opportunities through our alumni network.

17. Is the school environment safe and secure for students?
